Of course, when you have friends or family over, and they remark at how beautiful your garden is, you can be proud of all the effort you’ve put in. But why stop there? You could turn your pretty garden into your main entertaining area with just a few changes. If you’re ready to bring the life and soul of your next party into the heart of the garden, why not try these ideas? LightingMany parties that start in the afternoon quickly die out as the sun goes down. To keep your garden well lit, there are several different lighting options. Start with some LED strip lighting to highlight the edges and steps of your patio or decking area. They can also be used to illuminate the edges of paths, doorways and arbours. Soft cascading LED fairy lights can light up the net covers of any gazebo, or a fence or wall. Best of all, LED garden lights are often solar powered, so you don’t need to find an electric point.
SeatingThe garden is great for providing lots of places to sit and relax. You may have an arbour framed with climbing flowers or lights. Perhaps you have some comfortable garden sofas, or a bench overlooking the pond. The options are endless, and give your guests the chance to explore your garden to find the best vantage point.
DiningIf you have a dinner party, you’ll need a good dining set. Pick a table and chair set that fits within your patio or covered area. This will reduce the spoiling of food from the sun or a passing shower too. A flat floor like a patio surface or decking is ideal to set as an outdoor dining area. Make sure there is room for your barbecue grill too.
DecorIf you keep some flowering plants in pots, these can easily be repositioned. They can either be moved out of the way, or used to stage an area with attractive colors. Choose one or two colors that complement each other in each pot. Planters can be square or round. You can also buy caster trolleys to help move larger containers more easily. Sculptures and garden ornaments also help to decorate your garden areas. You can select a specific color scheme or choose a style to echo around the different areas of your outdoor space.
Our outdoor spaces are hugely valuable to us. They provide a place to relax, a place to work, or even a place to entertain. Next time you’re tending to your flower beds, see if you can make your garden provide more for you and your family.
