These days every bathroom has a shower in it. How the shower is built into the room is a different matter. You can have a shower that’s simply built into the wall. This means you can stand in the bath if you want to shower. The benefit of this is that you have a bath/shower rolled into one. Or, you could separate the two and have the shower standing on its own. Some people prefer to have this because it looks fancy. Seriously, a separate shower can look really sleek and classy. Just look at this magnificent shower panels for example.
Consider whether you even want a bath in your bathroom. I know that sounds weird, because if you didn’t have a bath would it still be a bathroom? But, some people just prefer to shower and so don’t bother with a bath at all. Me? I need a bath. I take showers every morning, but sometimes you need a bath to relax. With that in mind, choose your bathtub wisely. If you want to relax, you need one that fits you in comfortably. There’s nothing worse than a cramped bath!
Now, the toilet is an interesting one and poses a decision for you to make. Before we get into all the different types and stuff, you have to decide where to put it. Are you going to have the toilet in the bathroom, or will you maybe try and fit it in a room on its own next to the bathroom? I prefer having my toilet in the bathroom, it’s a lot less cramped.
Now, you have to think about the toilet design. There are loads of great cheap toilets out there that look really nice and modern. Lots of people are going for toilets that are built into the wall. This means that the cistern and tank are concealed behind the wall. It looks a lot nicer, but might have practical downfalls if the toilet breaks. Again, if you want my advice, I like the concealed toilets more. They just make the room look better and more modern.
Type of tiling
You have to think about what type of tiling you want on your bathroom floor and walls. There are so many styles and colours for you to choose from. If we talked about tile design, then we’d be here all day. Instead, I’m talking about tile features instead! Underfloor heating is a great addition to your bathroom tiles. It makes getting out of the shower a lot easier, and it feels so nice stepping onto a warm surface. Also, you’ll probably need bathroom mats and rugs too. You need mats to step on, so you don’t slip on the tiled surface when you’re wet.
